Meet the New Team Members

Welcome to our new staff, teachers and board members

Alejandra Cuesta Monrroy is new to the CMC Inc. board, and is a CMC mom. She has worked in data management, and recently earned a paralegal certificate 

Peter Banwarth is a multiinstrumentalist/singer with a Masters degree in mathematics with focus on education, and is completing coursework for a Baccalaureate degree in music education. Peter currently teaches group piano at CMC, including a new beginning piano class in Spanish starting in Winter term 2025.

Rhea Hertafeld is a violist with Bachelor’s degree in music and Master’s degree in music teaching from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music. Rhea will be teaching at Alice Ott in the SUN Community School after-school program.

Norberto Medina joined the CMC Inc. board in June 2024. He is the director of Tierra Educational Center, a Spanish language school for adults, where he also teaches Spanish. Norberto plays classical guitar and has 3 children at CMC - two studying violin and one the cello.

Julian Outlaw has a degree in Interdisciplinary Arts & Performance from Arizona State University, has expertise in music from trombone to composing to audio production, and serves many roles at the Center Powered by Y.O.U.th, including instructor of the “Music, Beats and Sounds” classes. He’s an active artist, creator, and entrepreneur in the multi-media realm.

Nancy Yang joined the CMC, Inc. board in June 2024. She has two children at CMC. Nancy played Chinese zither (guzheng) in her youth, and now is a Mandarin Chinese teacher at Cleveland High School.
